Projects The West Virginia Children’s Trust Fund is not a provider of direct services. Through a variety of initiatives, including “Partners In Prevention,” the WVCTF supports local communities in creating efforts to prevent problems before they ever begin. Partners in Prevention is based on the belief that child well being hinges on the capacity of local communities to support families and protect children. This approach is built on a framework of collaboration between and among community groups, state and local organizations, and local teams. Everyone has a role to play to strengthen families and children in the Mountain State. Community Teams across the state participate in this program of educational workshops, networking and mini-grants. The goals of the teams are:

Projects funded in the 2011-2012 fiscal year Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia announces a Community Grant Opportunity With funding from the West Virginia Children's Trust Fund, the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, and the WV Department of Health and Human Resources, Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia announces a mini-grant opportunity for organizations and qualified individuals working to preventchild abuse and neglect in the state. The purpose of this grant program is the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect in this state The Good Beginnings Mini-Grant Program will provide up to 10 grants of up to $1,000 per year for community-based programs that have creative strategies for preventing or reducing the occurance of child abuse and neglect.
